Route 5 Stormwater Reconstruction
Owner: City of Amsterdam;
Project Value $1,157,365.
The project location ran along the highly travelled Route 5 in Amsterdam NY, high traffic patterns and harsh conditions were a constant challenge for work efforts as well a public safety concern. The scope consisted of approximately 2,500 LF of sewer and storm water pipe replacement. The team dealt with native Montgomery County rock as well as constantly changing water levels from the Mohawk River.
Halfmoon Water District No 1 Replacement
Owner: Town of Halfmoon;
Project Value $1,905,381.
Peter Luizzi & Bros worked closely with Engineer CHA Consulting, Inc on the replacement of approximately 10,000 linear feet of existing water main with 8” & 12” DIP water main including hydrants, valves, water services, fittings, associated appurtenances and related site work. Additionally, there were (2) below grade pressure reducing valve vaults. Along with working in the front yards of many town residents, the team also performed a bore underneath the active railroad tracks with the assistance of CP Rail.
Delaet’s Landing Apartments
Owner: Private;
In addition to the major site work contract for the Delaet’s Landing Apartment project, was emergency change order work to relocate the 32,000 lb pressure relief valve vault. The work that was to raise the water pressure to the apartments was completed within 3 days and overcame several obstacles. The team worked late into the evening, through rain and freezing temperatures to get the job completed.
Hackett Boulevard Water Main Replacement
Owner: City of Albany Water Department;
Project Value $774,400.
A project that consisted of the installation of 16″ DIP water main on Hackett Boulevard, 8″ DIP water main on Crown Terrace, reconnecting existing water services to the new mains and site restoration. The crew worked day and night to get the project completed on time and with a little inconvenience to the residents, business owners and commuters as possible.
Ilion Water System Improvements – Well Transmission Main
Owner: Village of Ilion;
Project Value $2,789,775.
Starting in the fall of 2019, is the construction of 8,400 linear feet of 16″ ductile iron water main and 3,600 linear feet of 18″ HDPE water main through the Villages residential streets. In a lesser seen area of Ilion the crew will also be working to restore and repair the original water works filter beds from the early 1900’s. This is a hugely anticipated project for the Village as they seek a long term solution to Ilion’s water problems.
